Nigerian singer and songwriter, Praiz has pleaded with the world not to judge an average Nigerian intelligence based on the Tweets of Nigerian leaders.
His Plea is coming hours after Twitter deleted President Buhari Genocidal tweets. On the 1st of June, the president of Nigeria while addressing the recent vandalism and destruction of properties in the southeast said,
“Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War. Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand.”
His civil war tweet caused a stir on social media and Nigerians took to Twitter to report his Twitter handle. They diligently tagged Jack Dorwsy, The CEO of Twitter to take down Buhari’s Twitter account for good. Their pleas were partially heard as Twitter deleted His ‘civil war’ tweet on the basis of “was in violation of the Twitter rules.
However, after Buhari’s tweet was deleted, Mai Mohammed, the Minister of Information came out and accused Twitter of not being clear in its standard for deleting tweets. According to him, Twitter activity in Nigeria is very suspicious and should be reviewed.
Reacting to this, Praiz took to his Twitter account to plead with the world not to Judge Nigerians based on the words our leaders utter. according to him, Nigerians are also baffled with the speech of their leaders, but can’t doMuch about it.
