Last Friday, fans received the final album from DMX “Exodus“, a project he named after his last son. The studded affair was fully packed with some of the biggest names in rap music right now.
The album was recorded before DMX’s passing and had A-list rappers, like Jay-Z and Nas on a track titled “Bath Salts.” The track earned massive acceptance from fans but it was not all rosy, as Jay-Z stepped on a couple of toes when he tossed a diss line towards The Kardashians.
He did recount his deal with Coca-Cola over a decade ago, and name-dropping the Kardashians. “Every girl I see wanna be wifey like that/ I’m the King of Zamunda, uh, King of the Summer/ Come be my Kardashian, Queen of the come-up,” – Jay-Z
At the mention of the Kardashians, the rapper caused a couple of people to stop and think why he would mention such at a time like this, considering the rumored tension between Beyonce and Kim, alongside Kanye’s divorce from Kim Kardashian.
Reactions like this sprung, as people listened to the widely accepted hit track:
“Come be my Kardashian. Queen of the come up,” Jay-Z on DMX’s song “Bath Salt.”
“Jay Z on DMX’s Bath Salts track: come be my Kardashian queen of the come up… Solange is waiting in the elevator my guy (round 2 fight) #DMX”
“Jay Z saying “come be my kardashian” is very trash cause he has beyoncé lol”
